As an introduction to Module 3, students are assigned the task of preparing a team multimedia presentation. For this purpose, the student group will be divided into 5 separate teams (with a maximum of 5 members per team).
Each team will select and analyze one of the following five companies. To help you choose, below is a brief overview of each firm along with its key brands and business activities:
Core Business: A leading Polish developer and publisher of global AAA video games, as well as a digital distribution platform operator.
Key Brands & Products: The Witcher game franchise, Cyberpunk 2077, and the GOG.com digital storefront.
Core Business: The largest multi-energy corporation in Central and Eastern Europe, operating across oil refining, petrochemical production, natural gas exploration/trading, and power generation.
Key Brands & Entities: Orlen retail fuel station network, Stop Cafe, alongside key subsidiaries Energa and PGNiG.
Core Business: A Portuguese international retail group specializing in food distribution and FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) retail.
Key Brands: In Poland – Biedronka (discount supermarket chain) and Hebe (drugstores); in Portugal – Pingo Doce and Recheio; in Colombia – Ara discount stores.

Each team is required to designate a Team Leader, who will serve as the primary point of contact with the lecturer and coordinate the team's project workflow. Group sign-ups will be conducted via a dedicated Google Form.
Format: Team Presentation (Multimedia)
Duration: 8 minutes
Assignment Objective
The primary goal of this first project phase in Module 3 is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the market profile, history, and organizational structure of your assigned company. This presentation will serve as a qualitative foundation for the second phase of Module 3, which will focus on a detailed quantitative analysis of these companies' consolidated financial statements.
Required Presentation Content
Your presentation must address the following key areas:
Company Profile & General Overview
Legal name, headquarters location, ownership structure, and capital market status.
Scale of operations: geographic footprint and key target markets.
Historical Background & Major Milestones
A chronological outline of the company's foundation and evolution.
Major historical inflection points (e.g., significant mergers and acquisitions, shifts in business models, IPOs, corporate restructurings).
Operational Structure, Business Segments & Brand Portfolio
Identification of core operating divisions (reportable segments).
The percentage share of each segment/division in the group's total revenue.
An overview of the key brand portfolio, products, or services within each division.
Corporate group structure: identifying the parent company and the most significant subsidiaries, including their specific roles within the group.
Strategic Trajectory
Past strategy: historical business priorities and approaches.
Current operational and market strategy.
Future outlook: long-term strategic directions, planned investments, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals.
Market Positioning & Competitive Landscape
Identification of the main direct competitors in the industry.
Analysis of the assigned company's key competitive advantages.
Financial Reporting Source Identification (Crucial Preparation Step for the Next Class)
Each team is required to locate the official sources of financial data for their assigned company (e.g., the Investor Relations webpage or official stock exchange filings).
You must find and download the Complete Consolidated Financial Statements for the most recent full fiscal year, including the Notes to the Financial Statements. Please save this document to your drives.
On one of the final slides, you must provide a screenshot of the report's cover page and the direct URL link to where the document was accessed. This document will be your primary working material for the upcoming classes.
Technical Specifications & AI Integration
Use of AI: I strongly encourage teams to leverage Generative AI tools (GenAI) during the preparation phase. You can use AI for slide design, visual generation, data structuring (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude), and layout creation. The presentation should be highly multimedia-rich and visually engaging.
Fact-Checking (Mandatory): The use of AI tools does not exempt you from rigorous fact-checking. AI models can hallucinate data. All financial figures, revenue breakdowns, and historical facts must be cross-verified by the team against reliable, official corporate sources.
To foster cohort-wide unity, seamless communication, and inter-team cooperation, all 5 project groups will deliver their findings using a single, unified presentation framework. Rather than working in isolated silos, the teams will collaborate to establish a shared corporate style for Module 3.
Key Responsibilities for Team Leaders:
Team Leaders' Alignment Meeting:
Prior to building individual slide decks, the 5 designated Team Leaders must meet (in-person or online) to coordinate workflow and agree on joint technical standards.
Shared Platform & Visual Identity:
Agree on a single presentation software platform (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Canva).
Establish a standardized visual theme: uniform slide dimensions, consistent color palette, typography, and header styles.
Standardized Presentation Architecture:
Define a fixed slide-by-slide master structure that every team will follow (e.g., Slide 1: Executive Title & Team Roster, Slide 2: Company Snapshot, Slide 3: Milestone Timeline, etc.).
Standardize slide headers, section dividers, and window layouts to ensure visual harmony across all 5 group presentations.
Designated Customization Zones:
Clearly delineate which layout elements are fixed across all teams and where company-specific data, logos, brand photos, and financial screenshots should be inserted.
Outcome & Purpose:
This collaborative effort ensures that when all 5 presentations are delivered in class, they will feel like a cohesive, multi-volume corporate intelligence report produced by a single consulting agency, rather than 5 disconnected projects.
